These lovely people are there to make your lives a little easier. They help in several ways;
Cleaning your flat once a week, so you don't have to.
Changing your bed once a fortnight for you and laundering your bedding, returning it fresh and ironed. ( You can do it more often yourself if you choose to).
Collecting one basket of your laundry per week from your door and returning it freshly laundered and ironed.
Please note the laundry uses communal electricity. It does not add to your own personal electricity bill.
Cleaning and upkeep of all communal areas.
C) Chef and kitchen staff.
If you wish, you can order in-house chef prepared lunches, 2 or 3 courses with choice of menus. These are to pay for but are subsidised. Some residents order 3 courses and might take their starters back to their flat, to enjoy at teatime. The benefits are less shopping and cooking for residents. Guests can eat too.
Table service is provided by the dining room staff at lunchtime for residents , after which many will retire to the lounge for tea or coffee.
D) Absence of water rates. This is included in the service charge.
E) Electricity used in the laundry room washing machines, dryers and ironing is included in the service charge. This also applies to the charging of mobility scooters and wheelchairs in the scooter room.
F) Window cleaning.
